What This Attio Integration Does

This Attio LinkedIn integration automatically turns your Attio contacts into LinkedIn connections using Botdog. When you add someone to a specific list in Attio, Botdog sends them a LinkedIn invitation within hours.

The workflow:

  1. Add a contact to your "LinkedIn Outreach" list in Attio

  2. Zapier detects the new list member

  3. Contact gets added to your Botdog campaign

  4. Botdog sends the LinkedIn invitation automatically

Why use Attio lists? Lists give you complete control over your Botdog campaigns. You can review prospects, qualify them, and strategically choose who gets LinkedIn outreach. Much smarter than messaging everyone in your Attio workspace.

What You Need

  • An Attio workspace with contacts

  • A Botdog account

  • A Zapier account (free plan works)

  • 10 minutes to set up

Step 1: Create Your Botdog Campaign

Set up a campaign in Botdog ready for Attio integration:

  1. Go to your Botdog dashboard

  2. Click "Create new campaign"

  3. Select "Import contacts later (use for API or integrations)"

  4. Configure your campaign:

    • Campaign name: "Attio Integration"

    • Workflow: "Send an invitation"

    • Invitation message: "Hey ##{{firstName | there}}!"

  5. Save the campaign

Select the last option "Import contacts later"

This is the most basic Botdog campaign: skip if already connected, and if not connected send an invitation say "Hey FirstName!"

This creates a simple Botdog workflow that automatically skips people you're already connected with.

Step 2: Create an Attio List

Create a dedicated list in Attio for Botdog automation:

  1. Go to Lists in your Attio workspace

  2. Click "Create list" then "Start from scratch"

  3. Name it "LinkedIn Outreach" or whatever name makes more sense for you

  4. Set object type to "People"

  5. Save the list

  6. Important: Add at least one contact to this list (this prevents "No entries found" errors when setting up Zapier)

Step 3: Connect Attio to Botdog via Zapier

Get Your Attio Access Token:

  1. Go to Settings > API in Attio

  2. Click "Create access token"

  3. Name "Zapier"

  4. Set all scopes to "Read"

  5. Save changes, then copy the token

Set Up the Zapier Integration:

  1. Use our Zapier template: [Template link here]

  2. Or create manually:

    • Trigger: Attio β†’ "Record Added to List"

    • Action: Botdog β†’ "Add Contact to Campaign"

This is as simple as it gets

Configure the Trigger:

  • List: Select "LinkedIn Outreach"

  • Object: People

  • Connect using your Attio access token

Configure the Action:

  • Campaign: Select "Attio Integration" (the campaign you created in step 1)

  • LinkedIn URL: Map to "1. Parent Record Values Linkedin Value" - this is an Attio field that you have to fill on your end

  • Custom Attributes: Add extra Attio data for personalization if you want (you can then use this data in your Botdog campaign)

Step 4: Test Your Integration

  1. Test the Zap with sample data

  2. Add a real contact to your Attio "LinkedIn Outreach" list (they need to have

  3. Check that they appear in your Botdog campaign

  4. Turn on the Zap

Daily Usage

Your workflow becomes super simple:

  1. Review prospects in Attio - filter by company size, role, etc.

  2. Add quality leads to the "LinkedIn Outreach" list

  3. Botdog sends invitations automatically

  4. Manage replies in Botdog when people accept

You can bulk-add multiple contacts to the list for efficient processing.

Pro Tips

Be Strategic: LinkedIn allows ~200 invitations per week. Use Attio lists to target your best prospects only.

Enrich the LinkedIn URLs? This workflow requires that you have already the LinkedIn URL of the person in Attio. If you don't, you can add a tool like ReverseContact in Zapier to find LinkedIn profiles from email addresses using their API (~$0.06 per lookup).

Personalize with Attio Data: Use Custom Attributes to pass industry, deal stage, etc. from Attio to Botdog for targeted messaging.

Multiple Campaigns: Create different Attio lists for different Botdog campaigns (hot leads, cold prospects, event attendees).

Expected Results

Results from this Attio Botdog integration:

  • 40%+ invitation acceptance rates (much higher than Attio email campaigns)

  • Direct access to prospects' LinkedIn content and activity

  • Better relationship building through Botdog's social features

  • Time saved - no more manual LinkedIn outreach

Common Questions

Why aren't my Attio contacts showing up in Botdog? Check if they have LinkedIn URLs in Attio, verify your Zapier connection is active, and look at task history for errors.

I'm getting "No entries found" when setting up Zapier. What's wrong? Add at least one contact to your Attio list before configuring the Zapier trigger.

Why isn't Botdog sending LinkedIn invitations? Check if you're already connected with that person, verify you haven't hit LinkedIn's limits, and ensure the LinkedIn URL format is correct.

Why This Beats Other Methods

Vs. Attio Email: Botdog LinkedIn messages get read, emails get ignored.

Vs. Manual LinkedIn: Scale Botdog to hundreds of prospects while keeping it personal.

Vs. Direct API: Attio lists give you oversight - choose exactly who gets outreach.

Vs. Other Integrations: Attio's data structure makes this the smoothest Botdog integration available.

Start building real relationships with your Attio prospects through intelligent LinkedIn automation. Your sales conversations will thank you.
