The Problem with Repetitive Messaging
You send the same messages constantly:
Meeting links after someone accepts your connection
Pricing information when prospects ask
Apologies for delays
Follow-ups on pending tasks
Product presentations
Typing these out every time wastes hours per week. That's where snippets come in.
Two Types of Snippets
Regular Snippets: Pre-written text that inserts instantly. Perfect for standardized responses.
AI Snippets: Prompts that generate personalized responses based on conversation context. The AI reads the chat history and adapts your message.
How to Create Snippets
Step 1: Go to Settings > Snippets
Step 2: Click "Create Snippet"
Step 3: Choose Regular or AI Snippet
Regular Snippet Fields

Shortcut: What you type to trigger it - must start with
/(like/hello)Content: The message text that will be inserted

/Prompt: Instructions for the AI on what to generate

Use this context to reply to the conversation before, make it very short and personalized. Thank the person for their message (and use their first name). Use the same tone and language, and personalize using context from the previous messages. If necessary, use a link - but you don't have to.
AI "This is done"
Shortcut: /aidone
Reply to the other person saying that whatever task I was supposed to do is done. Keep it short, casual and use the same language as them. Use their first name if possible, and remind them what the done task was (very casually).
AI Follow Up
Shortcut: /aifollowup
Follow up gently to ask the person about whatever was being discussed. Be super gentle, casual, short, and mention their name if possible. That could be something as simple as "Hey {firstName}? :)"
AI Thank You
Shortcut: /aithankyou
Thank the person with a very short, personalized message. Keep it casual and use the same tone as the messages before. Mention their first name and explain what has been done. Never say something like "I've removed you from my follow-up sequence.", make it so this is all very natural and human.

When to Use Regular vs AI Snippets
Use Regular Snippets when:
The message is always exactly the same (meeting links, coupons, standard info)
You need it instantly with zero variation
You're including merge tags from your CRM or CSV data
Use AI Snippets when:
The message needs to adapt to conversation context
You want personalization but don't want to write it from scratch
The tone needs to match the other person's style
You need to reference previous messages naturally
Creative Snippet Ideas
Regular Snippets:
Out of office message
Pricing breakdowns with different tiers
Calendar availability ("I'm free Tuesday 2-4pm or Wednesday morning")
Product demo videos or case studies
Onboarding checklist for new customers
Common troubleshooting steps
AI Snippets:
Reschedule meeting politely (reads context about why)
Explain feature based on their question
Suggest next steps tailored to their situation
Handle objections with context from their concern
Write cold DMs that reference their profile
Writing Good AI Snippet Prompts
Be clear about tone: Specify "casual," "professional," "friendly," or "brief"
Set boundaries: Tell it what NOT to say (like our "never mention removing from sequence" example)
Give context up front: The more background info you provide, the better the output
Request specific elements: "Use their first name," "keep it under 2 sentences," "include a link if relevant"
Test with different conversations: Try your prompt on various chat histories to see how it adapts
Getting Started
Start with 3-5 regular snippets for your most common messages. These will save you time immediately.
Then experiment with 1-2 AI snippets for situations where you need personalization but want speed. You'll quickly see where AI helps versus where fixed text is better.
Pro tip: Use shortcut names you'll remember. /ml for meeting link, /price for pricing, /sorry for apologies. The faster you can trigger them, the more time you save.
Snippets aren't about being lazy - they're about being consistent and fast. Your replies will be just as good (or better), but you'll send them in seconds instead of minutes.
